Air — the air-ECO system

Leaving the tarmac and coming back means two sessions of several minutes at the wheels. This whole system exists to turn those minutes into tens of seconds, and to have you hit the pressure rather than the neighbourhood of it.

01.1 / AIR

The CRS reel and its brackets

A hose reel that fits under a seat or on a cage. The base version carries twenty feet of hose, the longer one thirty-five. Brackets and chucks are bought separately, because everyone carries this somewhere different.

Note: Never take the reel apart — the return spring is wound at the factory and disassembly voids the warranty. If the hose jams, call us rather than reaching for a screwdriver.

Measuring pressure

A glycerine-filled gauge in two ranges: up to 40 PSI for off-road work and up to 90 PSI for towing and higher load-range tyres. Accuracy ±0.5 PSI, repeatability 0.05 PSI, working range −34 to 79 °C.

Questions

Common questions

RPV, RIV or RCV — what is the difference?

RPV deflates, RIV inflates, RCV does both without dismounting the tyre. The RPV replaces the factory valve stem and has a gate you slide to bleed air smoothly. The RIV is a large-bore inflation valve for wheels with two valve holes. The RCV screws onto your existing stem once the core is out — the simplest fit of the three.

What RPV length should I order?

Measure the valve stem well in the wheel. Its depth depends on rim width, offset and model, so it cannot be guessed from tyre size. Measure before ordering — there is a standard and an XL length.

Will the RIV fit my wheels?

Only if the wheel has two valve holes. The RIV is an inflation-only, large-bore valve: the second hole keeps a normal stem or the TPMS sensor. On a single-hole wheel the RPV or RCV makes more sense.

Why a separate gauge when the compressor has one?

Because the compressor gauge reads line pressure, not tyre pressure, and is out by several PSI. At 12 PSI on the trail, two PSI is the difference between a tyre that works and one that unseats. The PPG is glycerine filled and holds ±0.5 PSI.
